Canada’s educational institutions receive generous government funding and support. The country is home to several prominent universities which are nurturing skills development of future leaders.
We have highlighted some popular scholarships at Tier 2 Universities below only for meritorious students with an excellent track record of co-curricular activities.
Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships
Simon Fraser University | Canada Rank: 11
SFU recognizes high school students who demonstrate excellence in both their academic and extracurricular activities. The value of a scholarship may range from $10,000 up to an amount sufficient to cover all tuition and mandatory supplementary fees normally required for the completion of a student’s first undergraduate degree at SFU.
Academic Excellence Scholarships for International Students
York University | Canada Rank: 11
Five (5) to 10 of these scholarships are awarded per year, valued at $5,000 to $10,000. It is for $5,000 to $10,000 towards a student’s first year of study.
International and U.S. Admission Scholarships and Awards

General Entrance Award Program

To be considered for entrance awards, students applying to Dalhousie directly from high school must apply to the General Entrance Award Program. By completing this single application, students are considered for the large majority of our entrance scholarships and bursaries. International students are eligible for entrance awards and should submit the General Entrance Award application by March 1. By submitting this application you will be considered for a wide range of entrance awards.
International Undergraduate Student Scholarships
University of Manitoba | Canada Rank: 17
The International Undergraduate Student Scholarship was established to reward excellence in scholastic achievement by international students at The University of Manitoba. $70,000 total scholarship funding is available yearly. This fund is divided equally among all eligible students.
Scholarships are offered to international students who:
are in Canada on valid study permits;
who have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours in any Faculty or School at the University of Manitoba;
show exceptional academic achievement on courses completed in the last regular academic session (minimum sessional grade point average of 3.5);
are continuing in the next consecutive year of full-time study in their program during the Fall/Winter academic session.
Eligible applicants will be ranked by sessional grade point average and scholarships will be offered until all available funds are exhausted or the grade point standard is reached.
International Undergraduate Entrance Scholarships

Non-Canadian citizens or non-permanent residents entering post-secondary studies for the first time and registering in the first semester of a degree program in the fall semester.
Entrance Awards for International Students
Carleton University | Canada Rank: 20
If you have been admitted to Carleton with an admission average of 80 percent or better and meet language requirements, you will automatically be considered for a renewable entrance scholarship. The admission average we use is calculated from the marks submitted by your high school in support of your application. Entrance scholarships are offered for fall entry only. You may be offered a renewable entrance scholarship provided you are entering Carleton for the first time and have no previous attendance at post secondary educational institutions. If eligible when admitted to Carleton, the scholarship value will be determined by your admissions average as calculated at the time of admission. Entrance scholarship offers are not assessed or reassessed on final high school grades.

most scholarships are awarded automatically by the Undergraduate Scholarships and Awards Committee in the Fall semester on the basis of top Assessment GPA with no application required. However a small number scholarships and awards require an application in order to be considered
