Studied Abroad: Student Stories

“Hi, this is Asif Hossain, I graduated from University of Manchester in 2016. Currently I’m a Lecturer at North South University in Dhaka and CEO of my company PrintworksBD. I am a tech enthusiast who reads self-help books and listen to podcasts during my leisure time."

How did your foreign degree contribute towards your current profession?

“I studied in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship. And that’s the subject that I am teaching right now at the university. It helps me to highlight all the new theories and examples of entrepreneurship that I learned in Manchester and bring something new to the table."

In your opinion, what are the real benefits of studying abroad as compared to studying in Bangladesh?

“We got to deal with a lot of practical stuff. Something which highly lacks in Bangladesh. When you deal with things practically; you get to remember it forever. Whereas, in Bangladesh, mostly its learning from the book only."

What tips would you give to ambitious students who would like to study abroad?

“Do your research, look into your options, take help from agencies if required – we all did. And just go for it. Initially it might seem like a difficult option. But trust me, it’s once in a lifetime experience you are never going to regret."
